5 Interesting Facts about Zoro’s Sandai Kitetsu

Famed anime One Piece is well renowned throughout the world. One Piece is based on the manga written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. Due to the popularity of the manga, it was adapted into an anime series and then a live-action Netflix series! The captivating narrative, fast-paced action scenes, and wholesome characters have won over the hearts of fans! There is a devoted fan base for the male lead of the series, Roronoa Zoro, and his unique weaponry!

Zoro was a fierce and ruthless fighter and was a skilled swordsman who caused chaos with every one of his weapons. However, his Sandai Kitetsu is his most underappreciated sword; it should be honoured for the reliable weapon that it was, and for defeating a number of his enemies. Listed below are five amazing facts regarding Zoro's Sandai Kitetsu that you most likely were unaware of.

Sandai Kitetsu is also known as Kitetsu III.

Sandai Kitetsu was a Grade Sword of exceptional strength and construction. Additionally, the sword's name has a certain fury to it, as anyone who pronounces it would attest. However, Sandai Kitetsu roughly translates to Kitetsu III or Third Generation Ogre in English.

Although Sandai appears in the blade's name, it is an identifier, and Kitetsu is the name of the gear's mane! However, despite the sword not having a strong English meaning that draws attention to its qualities like other swords, the name sounds impressive in Japanese.

Zoro's first named sword was Sandai Kitetsu!

One of the Grade swords, Sandai Kitetsu, was the first sword Zoro acquired early in the series. Sandai Kitetsu was rumoured to be cursed, just like its predecessors. Zoro discovers this cursed blade unaware of its importance, in Loguetown while searching through a barrel of swords.

Zoro's attempt to try his luck with the accursed weapon impresses the merchant, who initially declines to sell him the sword after realising what Zoro has taken. The sword is flung up into the air by Zoro, and instead of hurting him, it spins around his arm.

The vast majority of Zoro's named blades are related to females!

Indeed! Yes, you read correctly! The majority of Zoro's named blades are connected to some of the girls he has met in the series. Hiyori is related to Enma katana, Kuina to Wado Ichimonji, and Tashigi to the cursed Sandai Kitetsu! Although Shusui was linked to Ryuma, isn't it the single instance of this being the exception?

And die-hard viewers of the show have eagerly shipped Zoro with all the heroines connected to the swords!

Kitetsu was the lowest-ranked sword of Zoro’s

Of all the swords possessed by Roronoa Zoro, Sandai Kitetsu was the lowest-ranked sword! It was a Grade sword that was forged by expert swordsmith Kozuki Sukiyaki. Like its predecessors, it is a cursed blade that would inflict a horrible death on its wielder.

Despite this, it is considered the least powerful of the three Kitetsu swords. Zoro's other swords are all superior to Sandai Kitetsu. But having fought with it in many battles, it has shown itself to be incredibly strong and especially bloodthirsty!

This impressive blade was declared a 'Problem Child' by Zoro!

His cursed equipment was called a 'Problem Child' by Roronoa Zoro. Zoro thought the sword was somewhat bloodthirsty and inclined him to hack things without his guidance. Zoro thought it strange that it seemed to have a mind of its own and tempted Zoro to use the sword to make cuts. Owing to the unique characteristics of this blade, Zoro paid particular attention to it, allowing him to control it rather than the other way around!
