The manga written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge served as the inspiration for the well-known anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. With millions of loyal fans worldwide, the anime series is one of the biggest names in the animeverse.

The incredible plot, amazing visuals, endearing characters, and kinetic action scenes that continuously shock viewers with intense fighting are the main reasons for the enormous fan base! Shinobu Kocho, one of the most ferocious yet beloved supporting characters from the anime series, is one such figure who has captured the attention of viewers.

Shinobu, one of the Demon Slayers of the Demon Corps in the renowned series, is the Insect Hashira. She fights with the distinctive Stinger Nichirin Katana! The Insect Hashira and her lethal Stinger Katana have defeated many demons together, like the Daughter of The Spider Demon.

Her Nichirin Katana, the Stinger, was unlike any other regular Nichirin Katana!

Swords are the most ubiquitous weapons used in the majority of action-packed anime series. A hefty number of the swords depicted are similar in build, and only a few distinctive swords exist in Demon Slayer and even Animeverse. One such unique sword was the Lavender Nichirin Katana possessed by Shinobu. She wielded the famous Stinger Nichirin Katana, the katana she employed with her insect breathing style.

The Lavender blade was thick at the base, close to the hilt, but the remaining portion was replaced with a rod and had a needle-like tip that had a close resemblance to an insect's stinger! The scathing lavender blade had ‘Evil Demons’ engraved on one side and ‘Destruction’ on the other. The tsuba was designed to resemble the shape of a butterfly, with four aqua-coloured wings and an orange outline. The handle was orange with aqua-coloured cord-like wrappings.

The Chief of the Swordsmiths forged the Lavender Nichirin Katana

The Lavender Stinger Nichirin Katana was one of the most unique swords depicted in Demon Slayer. Despite the portrayal of many heavily featured swords in Demon Slayer, the construction of Lavender Nichirin set it apart from other katanas. Stinger katana had been transformed to become Shinobu's primary weapon.

The complex sword required expertise and finesse while forging it. Therefore, Swordsmith village head Tecchin Tecchikawahara skillfully created and forged this distinctive styled katana due to the immense skills required to make such a unique weapon.

Other demons were injected with poison by Stinger Nichirin Katana!

Yes, you did read that accurately! Shinobu injected her enemies with the wisteria poison using her specially-made sword! As a medical expert, Shinobu was well aware of her limitations, Shinobu lacked the physical strength to decapitate Demons.

Hence, she utilised her skills to compensate for her physical weakness and resorted to takedowns in a much more gruesome manner! She employed her Stinger Nichirin to inject them with the poison to weaken them and then murdered them! Who is complaining, though? Of course, not us!

Poison was abundant in Stinger Katana's sheath!

Shinobu needed a steady supply of poison in case she ran out because she used the wisteria-based poison to slay demons! As the Insect Hashira and a Demon Slayer belonging to the Demon Corps, she frequently encountered many high and low-ranking demons that needed to be eliminated!

To do so, she needed to have a running supply of poison to always be prepared. Therefore, the astute Shinobu was always a step ahead and prepared accordingly, and the sheath on her Stinger Katana has her covered! Her sheath had been modified to use as a carry-along poison mixer and loader!

Shinobu's Lavender Nichirin Sword may not have been the strongest Nichirin blade, but it was the deadliest!

The Nichirin katana was the deadliest sword, even if it was not as strong as Muichiro's or Yomo’s weapon. You would have died a lot faster than a rock hitting the ground were you to come into contact with the stinger blade.

It was due to the wisteria poison that ran through the blade, coupled with the enemies' inability to resist the fastest hashira's onslaught. Her expertise in poison-making resulted in a poison so lethal, that it significantly weakened the strongest demon of Twelve Kizuki and Upper Rank 2 Demon, Doma.
