As a young boy, Thorfinn dreams of adventure and wants to become a warrior like his father. Following Thors' death, however, Thorfinn becomes consumed by revenge and joins the Viking mercenary band led by Askeladd, the man responsible for his father's death.

As Thorfinn grows into a formidable fighter, he becomes known for his agility, speed and skill with short blades. Unlike warriors who rely on the reach and power of a long sword, Thorfinn frequently fights with daggers, using quick movements and precise attacks to overcome larger opponents. His fighting style is one of the distinctive elements of the series.

The influence of Thors also remains central to Thorfinn's character development.
